In a live interview on channels television with Doyin Okupe S.A to the
president on public affairs. He said all demands made by ASUU has
already been met and the 200 billion promised for this year has been
paid into a special account in the C.B.N. He also pointed out that by
international labour laws the government cannot victimise any striking
staff so ASUU doesn't have any reason to be on strike.
Prof Isa Faggie in defence of the statement says the government has
not given a reply to the new letter issued to them. The only thing
left for them to do is to sit down on the table and sign a MOU with
the government and after that the strike would be called off.
